Empowering Civil Society

The Center for Civil Society and Democracy in Syria (CCSDS) is collaborating with the BMW Foundation, Iftin Global, Red Dot Foundation, the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), Mediators Beyond Borders International, and the American Arbitration Association to host an in-person UNGA side event in New York bringing together civil society leaders, philanthropic partners, and development actors.

This public event will explore how sustainable funding and meaningful partnerships can strengthen the impact and resilience of civil society organizations (CSOs). Participants will engage in a dynamic exchange of knowledge, skills, and experiences, with the shared goal of enhancing institutional capacities to attract the resources needed for long-term mission delivery.

Discussions will frame the pressing challenges CSOs face within an increasingly constrained civic and financial landscape, while spotlighting practical strategies for building trust-based partnerships and mobilizing resources in innovative, sustainable ways.
