The Center for Civil Society and Democracy (CCSD) is proud to stand in solidarity with more than 660 civil society organizations from 106 countries in signing the 2025 Open Letter to Permanent Representatives to the United Nations ahead of the annual UN Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) held on October 6, 2025.

The letter calls on UN Member States to take decisive action to uphold women’s rights, ensure accountability for gender-based violations, and reaffirm the core values of the WPS agenda—peace, equality, and justice.

As the international community prepares to mark the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, CCSD joins global partners in emphasizing the central role of women’s participation and leadership in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and recovery efforts.
