The Centre for Civil Society and Democracy in Syria have sent a group of observers to monitor the elections organized by the Turkish government in Kilis camp for the displaced Syrians on January 17th, 2013 to choose mayors and their assistants in the camp.

Observers visited polling stations inside the camp and followed the course of the voting process during the entirety of the election. Elections were held in order to represent the 6 sectors of the camp. Observers were on hand to observe the poll workers as they counted the votes and went through the vote counting operations. CCSDS Observers have registered their observations and are waiting to issue their final report on the elections in Kilis camp.
