Due to the unprecedented escalation of violence by the Syrian government, options for residents of Qudsaya and Hameh, two towns outside of Damascus, are severely limited. One resident of Qudsaya explained that the citizens who live in Qudsaya and Hameh only have two viable options going forward: forced displacement or death. This began with the ground incursion and bombing of residential neighborhoods on September 27th, 2016 to fully control the two towns and to force the armed groups within the towns to leave.
