Early marriage remains one of the most pressing challenges facing Syrian children, with devastating social and psychological consequences that undermine their rights, education, and future opportunities.

This position paper, developed by Space for Collaboration, sheds light on the scale and impact of early marriage in Syria and presents concrete recommendations for action. It calls for comprehensive legal reforms, reliable data collection, and expanded educational opportunities to ensure stronger protection for children—especially girls—and to prevent harmful practices that perpetuate inequality and vulnerability.

By centering the voices of Syrian women leaders and advocates, this paper contributes to ongoing efforts to build a more just, inclusive, and rights-based society for all.
