As we kick off the 2nd annual Syrian Democracy and Peace Week (September 15–21, 2025), we reaffirm our commitment to advancing the role of Syrian civil society in shaping a pluralistic democratic Syria rooted in human rights, peace, and justice. This week aims to strengthen collective efforts toward an inclusive transition and raise awareness about the importance of an independent civil society sector for building a Syria for all. Anchored by the international observance of the International Day of Democracy on September 15, and the International Day of Peace on September 21,this initiative is an opportunity to highlight democratic values, civic rights, and the voices driving change.
